The VMR2+ (aka MINEHOUND) is issued in large quantities to EOD and Combat Engineers for use in Afghanistan and is an official USMC Program of Record Detector (POR). Benefits of the VMR2+ are: User Configurable Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to find ever evolving non/low-metallic signature IED’s in most soil and moisture conditions; Detects Command wires, Carbon Rod pressure plates, and deep buried Home Made Explosives; Dynamic Mode Metal Detection, for crisper alerts and ability to find small metal objects near large metal objects (i.e. AP mines surrounding an AT mine, or objects near metal walls/fences, rail lines or under vehicles); Ability to work within an Jammer’s EM “bubble” (with tolerable amounts of interference).
