Vallon – VMC1 – Compact Metal Detector

The VMC1 (aka GIZMO) was issued in large quantities to EOD and Combat Engineers for use in Afghanistan. The benefits of the VMC1 are: Dynamic Mode Metal Detection, for crisper alerts and ability to find small metal objects near large metal objects (i.e. AP mines surrounding an AT mine, or objects near metal walls/fences, rail lines or under vehicles); Ability to work within an Jammer’s EM “bubble” (with tolerable amounts of interference); Compact size; High metal Detector Sensitivity with mineral soil compensation. The VMC1 has been tested extensively by US DoD.
