These applications provide effective phrase-based, touch screen-driven language translation for routine military, medical and humanitarian interactions with foreign nationals or non-English speakers in the USA. Android handheld devices are required for the use of current software. For other hardware, IWT, Inc. can adapt per customer requirements.

• This software implements language translation technology using the Android operating system. The software can be adapted to any operating system.
• The phrase sets are based on those used in the combat-successful Voice Response Translator (VRT).
• These smart phone applications provide cost-effective solutions based on combat-proven technology when the ultra-hardened VRT hardware isn’t needed.
• General Military, Chem-Bio, Police, Navy/Coast Guard, Canadian Forces-specific phrases are available.
• Capabilities:
• The platform is effective for operations where users do not require the Voice Response Translator’s eyes-free, hands-free operation and ultra-rugged construction.
• Users can scroll rapidly through short “prompt phrases” for each translated file. To play a phrase, users simply touch the prompt phrase. To see a full text translation of the phrase, users simply press the “See Text” button.
• Users have instant access to approximately 350 phrases in over 50 languages (in the general military version). These phrases support general interaction with foreign nationals or non-English speakers in the USA.
