The Athena family of beacons has been engineered to be the most durable Infrared marker beacon available. Constructed from a solid billet of aircraft aluminum, the Athena cylinder walls are more than 2. 5mm thick making the beacon virtually crush proof. This tremendous strength coupled with a water tight design make the Athena superbly suited for water-to-land and Special Forces operations. Principally designed as an individual and K9 Combat Identification marker, the Athena has also been used as a vehicle ID marker, drop zone indicator and perimeter marker. The Athena beacon is powered by the CR123A battery and is offered in either a one or two battery versions.
