Happy 4th of July — Appreciating our Nation’s Birthday!

Today marks our nation’s birthday, a day we celebrate with fireworks, barbecues, and by relaxing with family and friends. On July 4th we commemorate our independence as a nation and remember the courageous patriots and founding fathers for the freedoms that we are blessed to have as Americans.

As you celebrate this weekend, take a moment to remember our Nation’s service members and first responders, who give so much every day to ensure we continue to enjoy these freedoms. We also want to thank their family members who make so many sacrifices in support of these brave fathers, sons, mothers, and daughters. The entire ADS Team wishes you a safe holiday weekend! ADS Supports Warrior Week for USO of Hampton Roads!

ADS is proud to be a sponsor of Warrior Week, presented by our partner non-profit USO of Hampton Roads and Central Virginia.  Warrior Week kicked off last night and runs through June 1st.

Warrior Week is the first event of its kind and brings together various physical, therapeutic, and recreational organizations from across the country that focus on the rehabilitation of wounded service members.  This week-long event gives wounded warriors and their families the opportunity to participate in various activities including adaptive water skiing and kayaking, coastal fishing, a horsemanship therapeutic program, surfing,  and parachuting out of perfectly good airplanes. There will also be national representation from the US Sailing and US Cycling organizations!

Participating organizations include Equi-Vets, Hearts for Heroes, Heroes on the Water, Ride2Recovery, Two-Top Adaptive Sports, US Sailing, Wave Warriors, and Wounded Wear.  ADS will have volunteers at some of these events and we are really looking forward to helping support the these organizations and the work they do in support of our wounded warriors and their families!

Fundraiser for All In, All The Time Foundation at SOFIC 2014!

If you’re heading to SOFIC this year, join us and our partners S&S Precision and Smith Optics Elite at the GELANDE QUAFFING CHAMPIONSHIP fundraiser!  This event is to benefit one of our featured non-profits All In, All The Time Foundation!

The 2014 SOFIC (Special Operations Forces Industry Conference) will be held May 20–22, 2014 at the Tampa Convention Center, Tampa, FL.  This year’s conference theme, “Strengthening the Global SOF Network,” will provide a forum for military, government, academia, and industry stakeholders to network and discuss current and future challenges and how to best support our Special Operations Forces (SOF) around the globe.  ADS will be at booth #1324 and posting updates throughout the show- be sure to stop by and see us! The Gelande Quaffing Championship fundraiser will be held at the Dock Slip in front of Jackson’s Bistro on Wednesday, May 21st in Tampa, Florida.  There will be a silent auction with all proceeds benefiting the All In, All The Time Foundation.  We hope you can go out and enjoy the fun for a good cause! We embrace the responsibility to give back to those who have given so much to us, including active duty military, military families, wounded warriors, and veterans.  We are proud to partner with a group of high-impact local and national philanthropic organizations who support our Warfighters and their families at home and abroad.

Hammering for Heroes!

ADS Teams Up with South Hampton Roads Habitat for Humanity

ADS is committed to supporting our nation’s men and women in uniform from the moment they enlist through their retirement.  South Hampton Roads (SHR) Habitat for Humanity has provided us an amazing opportunity to support our men and women in uniform.

For the last two Saturdays, ADS has sent out groups of employees with tools in hand.  While few had any construction experience, we all had the same goal: to help build and renovate houses within the ‘Habitat for Heroes’ program for the SHR Habitat for Humanity. The Habitat for Heroes program provides access to affordable home ownership for Veteran and active-duty families in our community.  From roofing to “sawzalling” studs for framing, we worked alongside the “red hats” (the guys in charge), volunteers from the Navy, and the Heroes themselves (aka: the homebuyers). We assisted with renovations for their future homes at two different job sites, Kenley Commons in Virginia Beach and Cedar Road in Chesapeake. We would like to give a big THANK YOU to one of our partner suppliers, Mechanix Wear!  They heard about our efforts and supplied our volunteers with some of their performance gloves.  We greatly appreciate their support and continued partnership.  At ADS, we are used to providing equipment, procurement, and support solutions to our customers, but we were proud to show our support in different way.  We are psyched to continue our work with Habitat and can’t wait for the chance to use more power tools! Habitat SHR is currently accepting applications for Veteran and active-duty military families interested in becoming Habitat homeowners.
